JP

JP is one of the leading artists in the Dutch scene since he started his DJ career in the early 1990’s.  Back in the days he headlined numerous of legendary underground house events and was, and still is, of big importance to the development of the dance scene.  As a DJ and as part owner of the well known Amsterdam record store Groove Connection, JP inspired hundreds of youngsters who, after several years, became well known DJs themselves.  As a true pioneer he’s always ahead on things and introduced the Dutch audience new styles like trance and hard house.  With his outstanding mixing techniques (on 3 decks) he has rocked the scene with more varied styles than any other DJ in the scene.  Since his introduction of hard-edge house at the first edition of the worlds leading dance festival: Dance Valley, and as resident DJ for the notorious monthly HQ club nights in Amsterdam, he’s seen as the Dutch ambassador of the harder styles.  However JP’s music simply can’t be pigeonholed as his passion for (dance) music goes beyond styles, hypes and genres.  Over the years JP has accumulated experiences from many different international scenes.  Next to the European scenes, he has also played successfully at various events & clubs in countries like South Africa, Colombia, Israel and Japan.  During his HQ residency JP released four successful live-mixed compilations in the Benelux territory, which all reached the ‘classic’ status throughout the years.

Present

After more than 15 years JP is still one of the floor fillers of the Dutch scene and next to smaller, intimate clubs he’s also headlining major dance events for 15,000 people and more.  Throughout the years the letters of his name have become synonymous for an uplifting set representing that typical Dutch/German (hard) trance sound.  Next to this sound he’s also one of the best DJs to play retro/classics house sets, like he recently proofed at the Mysteryland festival and at the Amnesia terrace on Ibiza where people just couldn’t stop dancing on a trip down memory lane.  Two years ago he finally decided to hit the studios and started producing the music that he already plays for so long and founded the SupernovaTraxx label.  His recently released productions are played by a number of the world leading DJs and feature the high-rotation play lists of the Dutch dance radio stations.

Future

Next to his DJ performances worldwide, JP wants to concentrate on his productions and label SupernovaTraxx.  He just finished compiling a brand new mix-album that reflects his sounds and vision on the current scene. Another thing he concentrates on is, organising and developing club nights and area hosting for festivals, after hosting his own area on Giga Dance Outdoor he set up a new club night concept called “NU Energy”, which was launched in June 2006.  Whatever the future might bring us, JP has been there and done it all and he will still rock future generations no matter what…
